I have gotten a few comments on the speed of some of the effects on vine, so I’ve updated some of the JavaScript so that some of the effects load a little fast. These effects includes:
Small updates, but hopefully improves on the overall experience.

I’m reworking the Digg It tool to be a little more prominent when active. I’ve gotten comments that it’s not easily visible when active on the normal page. Below is a preview of what it might look like:
The updated tool should be up tonight.

I have added the ability to submit articles to Digg directly from vine.
On the right of each item below you will see a small rectangle (it will darken when you hover over it). To digg the news item, just click it and a small guide will help you through the rest.
This is just one more step to create a site that plugs into the web community.

As you know, vine will be constantly update with new topics and categories. Entertainment has been added as a topic with movies, tv, music and celebrities being the new categories under Entertainment.
I’ve cleaned up the JavaScript together with the backend too so it’ll run a little more optimized.

It’s been a while since I’ve done any major upgrade to one of my biggest projects, feedProcess. Which is why I’m happy to announce a brand new, standalone feature to feedProcess called vine.
vine is an all in one RSS haven, here you can find all your informational needs. The start page lists the more popular feeds, ones that most people read on a daily basis. To get deeper all you have to do is choose your specific topic from the drop down menu. Each topic has its own sub category that nails down on exactly what you want.
The project is currently in beta, though it is mostly finished I want to take this first week of launch to nail out any final bugs. So if you find any bugs, please let me know by emailing me at feedprocess [at] gmail [dot] com or commenting on this post.
So what are you waiting for? Visit vine now.

Just a quick note to let everyone know, Get Picked is now live on feedProcess.com. This is where you can submit your favorite (or own) RSS feed to be shown on the front page.
All feed will be viewed and cleared before it will appear on the front page, so please wait roughly 2 days for the url to appear. Some feeds may not be approved, since no email is entered you will not be notified whether your feed has been approved or not. So just be patient and look on the front page if your feed appears.

May Update has been delayed for June. Mainly because some of the features needs more testing so I can get rid of some of the bugs that are still present.
I would like to take this time to ask for some feedback and possible features you guys want to see in the next update. As previously discussed, I will be working on the back-end support and some interface updates here and there. I also have an announcement to make about a cool new feature that will be added, but I’ll make that closer to the release!
Hopefully I can get this update out the door so I can start working on some of my other projects and maybe even the next major update to feedProcess.

As I work hard on the next ‘big’ update to feedProcess, I decided to get out a quick post discussing some possible features and interface changes that will be out with the dubbed, May Update. All the features listed below aren’t final and might not even make it, but I do hope most of them do!
Back-End Update:
Interface Changes
That’s all I can spill for now. If you have any features you’d like to see, please post in the comments!

I’ve updated feedProcess tonight with some small new features and some design tweaks here and there. The major difference you might (and should) notice is the slight new layout of the content, it’s placed inside a neat little white “box”. Instead of having the wide open space on the page I decided to narrow it down so that you focus on the content provided via the feed, it also gives the site less of an “empty” feel.
One of the bigger features is support for two new podcasts feeds, but not just audio feeds, but video podcasts! The first podcast are supported via two formats, including Quicktime and DivX. The two feeds that are now supported:
Podcast Name: CommandN
DivX Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/command-n/xvid
Quicktime Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/command-n/h264
Podcast Name: muzikDEN
Quicktime Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/muzikDEN-h264
So definitely be sure to check them out! Great video podcast.
I’ve also updated the RSS parsing script to deliver the content to the page with less system resources, you might not notice anything since the optimization was more geared towards lowering resources on my web server (thanks again Site5).
